Effect of Gramoxone on the Endocrine Cells of the Pancreas in Developing Rats
Choi Byung-Tae

Abstract
The developmental changes of four endocrine cells, i.e. gastrin, somatostation, glucagon and pancreatic polypeptide, of pancreas were examined by immunohistochemical pattern of endocrine cells in perinatal rats. Oral administration of herbcide (9 mg/Kg pet day in 0.2 ml of D.W) from days 7 to 14 gestation revealed some difference between normal and gramoxone-treated rat involving retarded first appearance of endocrine cells and slight decrease in number with age. These results suggest that gramoxone treatement on pregnant rats display a general developmental retardation on endocrine cells of the fetus panceas as well as maturation.
